Kuan Yin (Guanyin) is the East Asian Bodhisattva of compassion and mercy. Hearing the cries of the world, she is a central figure in Buddhism who helps believers in times of suffering and anguish. Kuan Yin embodies both male & female characteristics but often depicted as a female figure in East Asian arts.
