Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity. Lakshmi has also been a goddess of abundance and fortune for Buddhists. Lord Lakshmi sitting on lotus pedestal and holds lotus in her hand, a symbolism for fortune, self-knowledge and spiritual liberation. She is the wife and active energy of the great Lord Vishnu. Her four hands represent the four goals of human life considered proper in Hindu way of life – dharma, kama, artha, and moksha. In Hindu culture, it is believed that anybody who worships Goddess Lakshmi sincerely without any greed, will be blessed with fortune and success. It is said that Lakshmi resides in places of hard work, virtue and bravery.
