Shamanism’s mythical merging of animal and human spirit inspired Susan Seddon Boulet’s artistic bridging of the spirit realm and the everyday world. Through research and personal exploration, Boulet developed a deep understanding of shamanic tradition. The shaman—as healer, medium, showman, and sage—transcends space and time, carrying wisdom and guidance from deities to earthbound humans. Twelve of Boulet’s paintings have been selected for this calendar. Each is accompanied by an excerpt from a Native American song, chant, poem, prayer, or narrative. Pomegranate also publishes Boulet’s art in Susan Seddon Boulet: A Retrospective.
