From their immensely popular book and gift store in Midtown Plaza, they provide a collection of unique and wonderful treasures to make your personal environment and existence more enjoyable and fulfilling.
"People are yearning for their lives and homes to be more reflective of their spiritual journeys," says Semple. "This is a place where they can find products that express that."
Their knowledgeable staff is particularly adept at guiding visitors through a vast array of books, greeting cards, and fabulous gifts. From soothing fountains for home and garden, to crystals, candles, incense and statuary, every item at Elysian Fields has been selected for its uniqueness and meaningful connection, with an eye toward creating a sacred space in one's home.
In addition to their large and unusual assortment of candles and candleholders, Elysian Fields features an inspiring selection of greeting cards and stunning jewelry, much of it one-of-a-kind.
Lately, the store has expanded its selection of Japanese tableware, books and kits on the sacred art of Mehndi and more decorative home accent items, such as colorful rice paper lamps.
Semple points to the popularity of aromatherapy, but stresses that to practice it effectively, one must use fine quality essential oils. Elysian Fields carries three such lines of oils and a dazzling collection of deliciously scented aromatherapy products, diffusers, massage oils and soothing, herb-filled pillows for the eyes and neck. The personal care department holds an irresistable assortment of lotions and soaps, with exciting lines arriving regularly.
Many trends that are now mainstream found their first local forum at Elysian Fields. Eight years ago, the store carried the only three English language books available on Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of placement and design. Today, they carry a wide variety of Feng Shui books, videos, and "cures" for the home and garden. Soon they will be expanding their selection of meditation supplies to include pillows, mats, benches and home altarpieces.
When Semple and Perkins opened their store in Sarasota, they hoped to create a place that would serve as a rich resource for information and beauty. Says Semple, "Our goal is to offer books and gifts to enrich your life," which is a wonderful gift, indeed.
